Fasting for married couples
#1
Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
I Corinthians 7:5 NKJV

Sir i just need to find out,the scripture about talks about not depriving each other (sex) except with consent while fasting. So what happens if the other party does not consent, do you carry on and deny them sex until you are finished with fasting or you should have sex while fasting or you should not go into the fast? Mind you some churches have 100 days of fasting, which would mean that the spouses would not have sex for more than 3 months. This I'm asking because the previous verse says the wife's body belongs to the husband and the husband's body belongs to the wife, so would denying your spouse sex because of fasting even if s/he doesn't agree be right taking this verse into consideration? How should couples handle this?

• Indeed, the bible was cleared. For, none of you should deny each other your body except there be an agreement or consent to do so.

• If the other party does not consent then it's useless embarking on such fasting/prayer. This is why it's very important to marry a like-minded or believer like you, one whom you have something in common with and have good communication in spiritual life and physical.

• No! You mustn't carry on nor embark on the fasting(in the first place) without initial agreement or consent with the other party lest you disobey the word of God.

• No.! Having sex during or while fasting pollute you and it causes you unattractive before your holy angel/heaven. This is why it's a must you ironed it out in the first place before you even consider embarking on the journey.

• Indeed, some church do 100days fasting and prayer. But don't get it wrong, each of you can come back again after each fasting and prayer daily or as you deem fit. But it must be after you break each day. But, ofcourse, except you are embarking on all round 100 days fasting and prayer without break which is rare. But if that is the case, you must discuss it with the other party and reach an agreement before doing so.

• If s/he doesn't agree then you'll be wasting your time embarking on such fasting and prayer because God will never go with you nor support it. You marriage, home is your number one hence if it's in disarray then you've fail it all.
