Why is dat??? Kos if free wil is there, why kant i read d bible n undastand it fuly b4 making a 'free wil choice' but in a case where i MUST b in d light to undastand d bible, isnt dat indirectly going against my free will?

Our soul, life doesn't belong to us but God.

Just like you wrote " free will".
You are here not just because of what you want from God but to understand his ways and righteousness.

So, what ever you must be maintain under his laws.

Another form of "free will" is the power to ignore him or choose not to follow his laws/righteousness.

God has never has never hold anyone to ransom.
You are here on your own "free will"

God is extremely patient and he does is things with patient, and always take his time.

Now, talking about the holy spirit, it's can't be force neither hence there will be no need struggling with it but as you grow in the lord, with sober and love for his laws you will eventually unravel the mystery of his holiness in you. That's the essence of the holy spirit in our lives. To guide us and lead to the lord's presence in other to remain worthy and enjoy his grace.

You can but not with this state of (your)mind.
Not when you heart/mind isn't settle.
God doesn't dwell in an unsettle soul/mind.
Hence, you must present, go before him with tremble mind and humility then. Pray the holy spirit to open your eyes, ministry to you as you embark on the reading or before.

Both old and new are the same but there were some errors in the old testament that needed to be corrected hence jesus was sent.
If old testament was perfect or without errors there wouldn't be need for God to sent jesus into the world.

The seat of leadership is reserved for men in those day or rather during the bible ages.
I hope you can now understand why jesus was sent to the word to correct some errors in the old testament.
Most importantly, the it also pointed to that fact that a woman isn't complete without a man and that she must submit herself to her husband.

It's means a (wo)man must be born again to be save.

Bless you

I'll just throw my two cents on the matter.

The work of the Holy Spirit is to teach us all things according to
John 14:26
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Now, when we read the bible we don't read it like a book, its not a novel, its not the work of somebody's mind like other books and novels are, which when you read you read with your mind (flesh) to understand them because they originated in the mind (flesh). The bible is the work of the holy spirit

2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

2 Peter 1:20
Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation of things.

2 Peter 1:21
For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

And it follows that because it was conceived in the Spirit, that you need that same spirit in order to "get" what the Spirit of the Lord is saying. Also remember that the bible is alive, its not a collection of stories that are just in the past, it is dynamic as opposed to the general books out there which are static/imagination. In essence the bible is the Word of God, He speaks to us through it and because of this you cannot say you'll just read it because every time you read it, it is the Lord himself speaking to you. The bottom line is that for the things of the flesh you need the flesh to understand them, for the things of the spirit you need the spirit of God to understand them.

Well said but am still not satisfied wit d answers sha. If i have a free wil to worship him, den evry tin has to b on a level playing field but d moment u ad d holy spirit to teach n guide u tru d bible, dats no longer free will, its more lyk a must do.

I do apreciate u guys, i realy do. Kos d state of mind am in ryt now is how i hav always bin probably sins i was born. It has bin same mission 'strugling to knw God' but al i get is notin but silence, silence n more silence.

Atleast d prodigal son knew he was aceptd bak. Imagyn wat wud hapen if he came bak n each tym he talkd but dosnt get a response frm his dad, broda or any one at home, wat do u expet him to do? Ur gues wud b as gud as mine. Haba! Havnt i tried enof? Ma spirit it self is even tired.

Its dis kinda tins dat pop up crazy tots about God in ma mind. Dis aftnoon i kept wondrin y d silence n u knw wat came up? I kip knockin on heaven's door n al i get is silence kos d angels are too busy singin too loud dat ma knocks aint heard. Hmmm

These are the steps you must take if (truly) want to hear from God.

1. Faith.
2. Do away with any doubt/anger within you.
3. Don't force it but patient long for his voice while u pray.
4. You can win God over by force you must prepare your mind for it.

5. Reading the bible and hearing from God require meditation and go about it patiently. As you mind/heart must be settle if you want to hear from God.

6. The holy spirit is within and around you but it takes patient, humility, sober soul to experience it touch or be inspire by it.

7. Start from somewhere do not wait for the holy spirit before u start reading/meditation on your bible. It will come as you embrace it. God is full of patient, to win him over you must act like one.

8. Don't expect the holy spirit, long for God and love him, do the reading for the love you have for him, kingdom of God and holy spirit will find it way into you.

9. Lastly, I see anger, thirst and questions all over you. It's good but you must go about it wisely lest the lord is far and, most importantly, write down these questions, doubts and what you want God to do for you then lift them up. Ask God, these are what I want tell me what to do, who I am, what's going on with me and ways to approach to experience your full presence and grace over my life.
Joel 2:28.
You see, no matter what I say here is your mind is made up on the contrary there is nothing I can say that will solve/answer your questions. This is the same position u are in the presence of God. To do away with that first, prepare your mind to hear from you, remove this anger/doubt and see that the lord will answer you.
I'd have love to counsel u on the phone.

Bless u
